On Wednesday May 3rd, 2017, I had my second road test in Canada (I failed the first). Before you can drive in Canada, it is mandatory to pass 2 tests (1. written test and 2. practical road test), both of which cost money. So if you fail, you have to redo it and pay the full amount. So you can imagine the disappointment, pain, anger, frustration e.t.c when one fails. I tell you, the pain can be excruciating 😀.
My second road test was about 8:30am that day, it took about 30 minutes and I PASSED. I can’t even quantify the joy I felt that morning after the examiner told me I was successful.
My husband was waiting for me at the lobby of the government office that conducts the test. I wanted to act like I didn’t pass but then I couldn’t contain my joy and excitement, my facial expression gave me away. Meanwhile, a news had broke in Nigeria that day, I wasn’t aware because I was too engrossed with looking forward to my road test that morning, plus there was 4 hours time difference between Halifax and Lagos then, Nigeria been ahead.
Anyways, after my husband and I rejoiced about my road test success, he then excitedly said handing his phone to me, ‘guess what, awon people yin ti wa engaged’ (these people are engaged) and I saw it was Adesua Etomi and Banky W. I literarily screamed with excitement, what a joy I felt all over again.
So it was double joy for me that day. Since I can’t forget the date I passed my Canadian road test, I also can’t forget the date the news of their proposal broke out. Apparently they had been engaged since February 2017 but kept it a secret. I still wonder how they were able to keep it from the public for that long.
Immediately, I ran to Instagram 😀 to see all the updates. I hadn’t seen Nigerians collectively rejoice over a love engagement before. The happiness was surreal. I dare say, that day was a National Day of Happiness in Nigeria 😀.
From that day till now, people are still smitten by their love. They had their wedding introduction shortly after the engagement announcement and today is their traditional wedding.
You need to go to Instagram and see all the love people are showing this beautiful couple, the very Nigeria’s Sweethearts. It’s been a while I crushed over a celebrity couple. It’s past 12pm in Halifax and I haven’t had breakfast, just because I am waiting to see all the pictures of their traditional wedding.
My husband and I watched the movie ‘The Wedding Party’ together after they announced their proposal and I read every meaning there was to every scene that had Bubba and Susu 😊.
I totally love these two. I liked them individually before they announced their engagement but now I love them as a couple.
I pray that their union lasts forever by God’s grace. They can’t even afford to disappoint us ni, not with all this our excitement and joy 😀. I don’t even have any doubt in their love.
I’m in love with LOVE because I am a sucker for LOVE.
Happy married life Adesua Etomi and Bankole Wellington, a.k.a Mrs & Mrs. Wellington.
It is OUR wedding 😀❤️😍.
