In celebration of Nigeria’s Independence Day, the Association of Nigerians in Nova Scotia is having a Nigerian Week. This week, there are activities lined up to commemorate the day.
To kick start the week long event was a Soccer event yesterday, where two teams slugged it out; the Red and Blue teams. The score line was 4-4 by the end of the second half, which led to penalty and saw the Blue team winning by 5-4.
It was definitely fun to watch our men play, all in the spirit of Nationhood.
Next is a Sunday service today at various churches in Nova Scotia where Nigerians worship, we also have the food donation drive for our community during the week, Jumat prayers in the mosque, Nigerian night e.t.c.
From the much I know, some Nigerians in the diaspora have various activities we also engage in back home to help our dear country and fellow Nigerians. We contribute in some areas in Nigeria. We also do our bit to create a good image for the country in our various foreign locations.
God bless Nigeria.
